Cappadocia Winter Tour I

With the days short and access to many of the site limited, we have put together two winter programs for one to visit the highlights of Cappadocia.
The first stop in the winter tour will be Göreme Panorama, a wonderful stop to view the famous fairy chimneys. From here we drive south to the widest underground city in Cappadocia, Kaymakli. Kaymakli underground city will take you 4 levels underground, exploring the many stables, halls and churches that were once inhabited by entire communities. (Underground city may change due to road and weather conditions). We then return back to the Goreme area first stopping at Pigeon Valley, you also have the chance to be shown how the famous Onyx figurines are made and see some fine examples of Turkeys precious stones including Zultanite. You will enjoy lunch before a visit Cavuşin Village; here you will see fine examples of abandoned cave houses and churches like St John the Baptist Church. We continue on to Avanos, a small town known for its ceramics, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at the art yourself. The tour then follows on to Paşabağ where you can see a type of fairy-chimney with multiple caps and stems situated in the middle of a vineyard. Devrent valley (also known as Imagination Valley) will be your last destination where you can view rocks of different shapes; there is one that resembles a camel. With the sun going down you well then be returned to your hotel for the evening.
